The Dossche Mills branches in Belgium and the Netherlands
Five strategically located production centres enable Dossche Mills to maintain a continuous and guaranteed supply to customers.
The head office of Dossche Mills in Deinze
The head office in Deinze, Belgium, is the epicentre from which all production centres and dedicated employee teams are managed.
Important work is carried out here in the field of innovation and development of new products. Products are also extensively tested for quality, including in the pilot bakery.
Dossche Mills Rotterdam
The Dossche Mills Rotterdam branch is one of the largest mills in Europe. Its location in the major port of Rotterdam also offers additional advantages. Dossche Mills is one of the few mills in Europe that still exports overseas.
Rotterdam is one of the most complete sites and is fully equipped for all possible applications in the field of wheat milling and flour production, but also in the field of heat treatment of flour, such as roasting sprouted grains. There is also a pilot bakery. Almost all supply deliveries are made by ship. In addition, the company largely removes the by-products itself – also by ship. Inland vessels for overseas export are also loaded there. Specific products such as a multi-grain range and roasted sprouted grains are produced in Rotterdam. The operational team consists of approximately 100 employees, in addition to some 20 employees in the administrative department and the Customer Care department.
Dossche Mills Merksem
On the Merksem site on the Groot Dok in Antwerp's Luchtbal district, approximately two-thirds of the buildings have been demolished in the past decade. They have been replaced by a sustainably designed new building with advanced technology. The old central part was preserved as industrial heritage and the contrast between old and new is particularly striking.
On the Merksem site, Dossche Mills clearly illustrates its future-oriented strategy and philosophy by investing at this port location in progressive technology with fully automatic installations and an ultra-modern new grinding line, where everything is done in the most sustainable way possible. A brand-new packaging hall and warehouse were built, and there are two completely new loading lanes as well as a new silo block. The ships are loaded with a suction system, which prevents fine dust from spreading. An energy-saving heat recovery system has been integrated into the workshop and the administrative building is equipped with a heat pump.
Flinn in Deinze
Flinn (Flour Innovations) in Deinze is not a mill, but a "specialised outsider". At this location, flour is heat treated for specific innovative applications, which are very different from those with traditional mill flour. The Flinn range consists of products for the food industry segment that "does not bake bread rolls", but uses crumbs and breadcrumb coatings to optimise products such as fish, schnitzels and croquettes in terms of taste, texture, shelf life and profitability.
Dossche Mills Bossuit
This Dossche Mills mill is slightly smaller than the Waddenmolen, and also has one grinding line, one mixer and one bagging line. The strategic location in particular offers many advantages. This mill is located a stone's throw from the French border and is therefore perfectly situated to supply some of the northern French customers.
Waddenmolen
All the way in the north of the Netherlands in Groningen, near the Wadden Sea, Dossche Mills took over the local Waddenmolen at the end of 2022. This 'little brother' of the group has one grinding line, one mixer and one bagging line. It is a well-considered location to serve customers even more efficiently in the furthest corners of the Netherlands and to offer them better customer service and a wide product range.
